Jon and Kate are in the news again. YAY!!!! In an article at NBC Bay Area, the notorious ‘why am I watching this on TV?’ couple were in court again.
This time over the remainder of what Jon owes Kate. That total, $151,500 is the only thing Kate is looking for, according to the article. It stated, “’The only proof of money we received is $28,500 that was sent over a week ago,’ Kate's attorney, Mark Momjian, told Usmagazine.com over the weekend.”
However, Jon’s attorney, according to the story, said, “’The octodad has ‘completely complied’ with court orders.’”
OK. Whatever that means, the article didn’t say.
So, how does Jon repay this money? The once upon a time reality show, "Jon & Kate Plus 8,” as silly as it may be now, was once one of TLC’s highest rated shows.
What I think should happen is this: Jon should get his own reality show again. Because no matter what you say about Jon, the fact that people follow the divorce in headlines means there must still be some interest.
The premise? Post marriage with Jon being a father to his eight kids and funny, bitter banter about Kate’s bad habits – like any other divorce. He could go on dates but cancel at the last minute because trying to find a babysitter for eight is ridiculous. And even if he did, having the ‘get to know’ you conversation with a woman who does actually want to date a father with eight kids, would be classic.
“I’ve got eight kids,” Jon says. “Why is there a camera behind you?”
“Me too,” Octomom says. “Why is there a camera behind you?”
Because who else can relate to this madness?
It could be called “Jon and Date Can Relate.”
Every Wednesday’s and every other weekends, this fall on TLC.
