"Tommy Chong enjoys doing nothing."

By Jason Tanamor

Tommy Chong, one half of the popular duo Cheech & Chong, recently took time out of his extremely busy schedule to humor me for a quick interview. And I mean quick.

Q - It seems that both you and Cheech are doing separate things in your career. Will there ever be another Cheech and Chong movie?

A - Could be. Depends on the offer.

Q - You’ve done a variety of things during your long career, including acting, writing, music and comedy. What is it that you enjoy doing the most?

A - I enjoy doing nothing right now. I guess writing is my passion now.

Q - But you’re touring the country with your wife. What is it the two of you do in your show?

A - Our show right now is pure stand-up with salsa dancing at the end.

Q - You’ve been around for many years but recently, it seems that a lot of young people know you from your role on That 70s Show but also your stint in the big house for selling bongs over the Internet. Have you gotten out of the pipe business? If not, can you hook me up with one?

A - No more pipe business, period.

Q - What is a typical day for you?

A - Smoke a joint, get an idea, write it down, do a bit, then make a movie.

Q - What's the worst experience you've come across since being in entertainment?

A - Going to jail for nine months.

Q - What’s next for Tommy Chong?

A - A reality show with my family and also the documentary movie, A.K.A Tommy Chong.

Q - Anything else you would like to say?

A - Legalize marijuana now.
