"'LOST' - Season 6. My ramblings of anticipation plus some actually useful info about the show!"

By Bry Schulz

Those of us lucky one's who are mega “LOST” fans are getting pretty antsy these days. The Season 6 premiere is just seven weeks from TODAY! And what a season it shall be, right? It's the very last season. There are "supposed" to be answers coming our way. And we'll find out if all that "blow up the h-bomb/hatch" stuff actually rebooted time and Oceanic Flight 815 actually LANDS safely at LAX. Are you with me? Do you know what I'm sayin'? If not, you need to brush up on your “LOST!” This isn't even the best of the best of the burning “LOST” questions.

Besides the burning sensation, er, questions we all have for “LOST” I think it's safe to say the next season will be bitter sweet. I could go on watching it for a lot longer but I know the show must come to an end. No one likes it when a show overstays its welcome anyway. But really, I don't think I want it to end. There is no other show on television like it. (Although I hear great things about this show “Flash Forward,” but I keep missing it. I'll get it on DVD eventually). I have never had a television show confuse me in such a delightful way. I mean, shows have confused me. I watched a few episodes of “Desperate Housewives” and I am always confused as to why that pile of poop is popular.

“LOST” has even influenced my regular life as well. Everything else I watch, read, and pretty much everything I do can easily be analyzed in a “LOST” manner. Take “Harry Potter” for example. I've recently started reading the series. In the second book "Chamber of Secrets" Harry is tricked by a character named Tom Marvolo Riddle - whose letters also spell out the phrase "I am Lord Voldemort." That's a very “LOST” thing to do. When I read "The Time Traveler's Wife" I kept thinking about the time space continuum in “LOST.” And sometimes in my own life I think of “LOST” mythology. For example, I have a crap head for a father. Most of the “LOST” characters have daddy issues. So, I think this means I belong on the show. Doesn't it?

Happily we won't have to wait much longer to find out if that silly plane lands. We might get answers like who the "man in black" was in the Season 5 finale. We might find out more about the "black rock." Or what about Ben "killing" Jacob? And for Pete's sake what the hell is the smoke monster already?!

The good news for us is that tonight ABC will be airing a one minute promo for the new season of “LOST.” The promo will air sometime during the show “The Forgotten.” (That's the piece of crap starring Christian Slater). I will be DVR'ing the show so I can fast forward straight to the promo later. There are also rumors floating around that the super awesome Spanish promo for the new “LOST” season will be making its English appearance in the US soon. (If you don't know what Spanish promo I'm talking about get with it already. And watch it here:

It's certainly a much better promo than the “Amazing Grace” one ABC has been running (if you don't know what “Amazing Grace” promo I'm talking about you're really not very good at being a “LOST” fan. Watch it here:

To this I will say to you all: Hold on to your butts! Because I think this last season of “LOST” is going to blow our minds and finally we'll get some pay off for all the years we've been watching this show and letting it abuse us relentlessly. And stay tuned to this website once the season starts for my weekly analysis or all caps disgruntlement of all things “LOST” Season 6.

Namaste!

I really enjoyed reading your article. Spoken like a true fan. I thought you touched on everything nicely without going into too much detail like most annoying articles do. Most try to explain way too much in detail...and what's the point? If this show has shown us anything its that we really know nothing...yet. The only details I wanna see are from the writers and actors while the show is on. Like you I usually rack my brain to the point of physical pain as well... it was nice to see an article where someone is honoring the show by asking simple to the point questions and not trying to show that they have some insight to the show that no one else has. I have my own theories, you can't help it really but lets just see what JJ and the gang bring us. Great article from a real fan! Have a great time watching it all unravel!

P.S. part of me does not want this to end either!!!

Great article. I hope you continue to post about LOST and perhaps open this up to a discussion about theories that are proven/disproven as Season 6 proceeds along. I too believe that this season is going to pack some big revelations, and if not, Abrams, Lindelhof, and Cuse are going to find some frustrated fans chasing them with torches!

P.S. I have heard that Matthew Fox said (the only castmember who allegedly knows how the show ends) that it is an emotional, startling, and revelatory ending.
